Preconception Program & Fertility
Dr. Chasse has developed a specialty in providing natural fertility and preconception care for couples.
Preconception care is what you do to prepare yourself get pregnant. Traditionally this would only include a prenatal vitamin, but here at the Northeast Center for Holistic Medicine, we see it as so much more!!
Did you know that the egg or sperm that you release today have been in “production” for 4 months?!? It is important that during that time, you do everything you can to make sure that the egg and sperm, which are the genetic blueprint for your child, are as healthy as possible. At the Northeast Center for Holistic Medicine, we help you identify what you can do to optimize the chance that you will get pregnant, and that the pregnancy and the child that you meet at the end of your pregnancy are as healthy as possible.
Numerous studies have shown the beneficial effects of preconception care, including lower rates of miscarriage, birth defects, low birth weight babies, and early-term babies (premies).
The Forsight Study, conducted in England, even showed the effects that proper preconception care has on fertility. Out of 300 couples who had previously been declared “infertile”, over 89% were pregnant within 2 years without the assistance of IUI (Intra-uterine insemination) or other similar fertility interventions. The same study showed twice the success rate of in-vitro fertilization in couples who were also undergoing optimum preconception care.
What we offer at the Northeast Center for Holistic Medicine is much more comprehensive care than any of these studies provided. We will work with women to regulate their menstrual cycles, teach them how to know when they are ovulating, and optimize their chances of getting pregnant. We also have natural ways to increase sperm count, motility, and morphology, and to ensure that the interaction between egg and sperm are healthy and productive.
We believe it is important for every couple to undergo preconception care whether they have had a difficult time getting pregnant or not, but we specialize in helping couples who have had difficulty conceiving.
We are happy to work with couples who would like to go through the Preconception program along with additional fertility interventions such as In-vitro fertilization or Intrauterine Insemination.
